What Is Quiz Bowl?
Quiz Bowl is a nationwide, buzzer-based academic competition, with a similar style of play to game shows like Jeopardy (though Quiz Bowl focuses more on academic knowledge than trivia). In Quiz Bowl tournaments, opposing teams compete to answer as many questions as possible within an allotted amount of time, using "buzzer" systems. There are over 2000 high school Quiz Bowl teams registered across the country. Nearly 250 teams participate in the annual Quiz Bowl High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT), hosted in Atlanta, Georgia each May.

Topics included in Quiz Bowl include literature, non-fiction writings, history, science, computer science, music, art, current events, geography, sports, and pop culture.
