MIDDLE SCHOOL TOURNAMENT - RESULTS

Congratulations to Team Jake 3 from Dana Middle School for taking first place in the Afterschool Special! Finishing the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record, Matthew Forster, Johnny Wen, Katie Wen, and Frank Lee defeated Team Finn 4 from First Avenue Middle School in a decisive 325-115 final match.

In addition, we would like to congratulate Matthew Forster for winning the title of top individual scorer, with an impressive 78 points per game. The overall top scorers of the tournament are as follows:

1. Matthew Forster (7th grade, Dana Middle School, 78 points per game)
2. Emily Pham (8th grade, Dana Middle School, 62 points per game)
3. Justin Chen (7th grade, Dana Middle School, 58 points per game)
4. Mohith Manohara (8th grade, First Avenue Middle School, 49 points per game)
5. Sean Lee (7th grade, Foothill Middle School, 43 points per game)

All-in-all, the first iteration of Arcadia's Middle School Open-- "Afterschool Special" was a tremendous success. We had a total turnout of 42 participants, mostly from 8th and 7th grade, with a few intrepid 6th graders. Arcadia Quiz Bowl would like to thank everyone involved in this event, for making the introduction of quiz bowl to so many middle schoolers possible. Thank you!
